Terms of Service
Effective Date: 3/30/2026. Please read strictly.
Welcome to WebShield Audit. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and Orygn LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our scanning infrastructure, you expressly agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue use of the Service.
1. Authorization & CFAA Warning
You strictly warrant that you are the legal owner of any domain you scan, or that you have obtained explicit written permission from the owner to perform security reconnaissance against it.
Unauthorized scanning of endpoints you do not own may constitute a violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) (18 U.S.C. ยง 1030) and other applicable international cybercrime laws. Orygn LLC monitors the platform for abuse and cooperates fully with law enforcement agencies in the investigation of unauthorized scanning activity detected on our platform.
2. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to use the WebShield Audit service for any of the following prohibited activities:
- Scanning government (.gov, .mil) or critical infrastructure without explicit written authorization.
- Attempting to circumvent the "Rate Limiting" or "IP Pinning" security controls in place.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to derive the source code of the execution engine.
- Conducting Denial of Service (DoS) attacks or generating excessive load on target servers.
- Using the Service to harvest data, scrape content, or build a competing repository of domain intelligence.
3. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." ORYGN LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE SECURITY. A "Passing" (S/A) grade indicates only that specific public configurations met our criteria at the time of the scan. It does NOT certify that the target is hack-proof, free of vulnerabilities, or compliant with regulations (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, etc.). You rely on these results at your own risk. We are not responsible for false positives or false negatives.
4. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Orygn LLC, its directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the service. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Any downtime or service interruption.
- Data loss or corruption.
- Reputational damage caused by a failing grade.
- Action taken by third parties against you based on scan results.
5. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Orygn LLC from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right.
- Any claim that your use of the scanner caused damage to a third party (e.g., crashing a legacy server).
This defense and indemnification obligation will survive these Terms and your use of the Service.
6. General Provisions
6.1. Governing Law. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
6.2. Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
6.3. Entire Agreement. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Orygn LLC regarding the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous written or oral agreements between you and Orygn LLC.
6.4. Changes to Terms. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
